What Fasten collects
Fasten does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal data.

- No analytics events or usage tracking

- No remote crash reporting
What it stores on your device
To provide core functionality, Fasten stores app data locally on your device: fasting records, selected traditions, reminder settings and cached prayer-time data.
This information stays on your device unless you choose to back up your phone through your own platform tools.
If you use Backup in the app, Fasten writes your data to a file and you choose where to keep it. That file is never sent to us.
Location and notifications
Fasten may request location access to calculate local prayer, sunrise and sunset times for traditions that depend on them, such as Ramadan, Bahá’í and Ethiopian Orthodox fasting. Fasten may also request notification permission for local reminders such as suhoor, iftar and fast start or end alerts.
These permissions are optional. Location data and notification schedules are used on-device only.
Widgets and Live Activity
The home screen widgets and the Live Activity show your current fast. Fasten passes them a small snapshot (the fast’s name, its times and your streak) through storage shared on your device. It never leaves the phone.
Third parties
Fasten does not use third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or cloud-storage services to process your fasting data.
Your control
Because your data is stored locally, you can remove it by clearing the app’s local data or uninstalling the app from your device.
Children
Fasten collects no data from anyone, whatever their age.
Who we are
Fasten is published by nGen, which is responsible for it under data protection law (the “controller”). Write to info@ngenlabs.org with any question about your data.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, or ask for a copy. Because our software keeps your data on your own device, most of the time we hold nothing to give back; we will tell you so. We answer within one month.
If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top. A change that collects more data would come with an update to the software and a note in its release notes first.
